2011 Season

Garden Opera present La Traviata

Set in Paris, La Traviata tells the classic story of Violetta’s transformation from a hedonistic courtesan to tragic heroine. It’s a tale of hope, despair and romantic love with most of the melodies – sung in English – very well-known. Garden Opera are described by Opera Now as ”the small touring opera company without equal in Britain” and bring a superb cast, including Elizabeth Woods and Craig Smith, and a small orchestra to the beautiful setting of Bayham Abbey. With the stage and abbey ruins floodlit after dark, the evening will present a marvellous combination of sight, sound and entertainment. This will be a night out you will always remember. And don’t forget your picnic!
